Can we ask for your prayers for Movement Day UK?
We are all working very hard to try and make sure this unique event is going to significantly serve the Church of God at this crucial time. Our divided nation needs the Church to be a light of unity and love on the hill at this time; and our society needs the Church to be better coordinated as it plays a caring, serving role in alleviating poverty and caring for the vulnerable. Please join us in praying that Movement Day UK will be a significant accelerant to even more strategic unity and co-ordination for mission.
Please pray as many cities and towns are beginning to pull together substantial delegations to attend the event. With places such as Sunderland, Middlesborough, Liverpool, Greater Manchester, Bristol, Plymouth, Reading, Ealing, Haringay, Croydon, Ealing, Watford, Loughborough, Brighton, Bolton, Salford and many others who are committed to bringing together teams.
Please pray that Movement Day UK will be much more than a conference. That it will be part of a longer term conversation across the nation asking the questions: “how are we going to see social, spiritual and cultural transformation in our places?”, “how do we work together in a more strategic and coordinated way?”, and “how can we resource and inspire Christians in the spheres of life to be intentional about their witness and better networked with other Christians to bring about long term change?”
Please pray that the city/ town delegations will be as diverse as possible with groups made up of church leaders, Christians serving in business, arts, media, education, health, politics and other areas. We also hope each delegate team will be representative, including millennials, women, men, and different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The value of coming as a delegate team is immeasurable because you get the opportunity to learn together as one city/ town and then go back to your place to put into practice what you’ve learnt.
The purpose of the event is to accelerate unity for transformation across churches and to form networks of influence in the cultural spheres. We are praying that your churches will get a significant shot in the arm that will give you added momentum on your next stage of development.
We strongly suggest you make full use of the incredibly low early bird ticket price of £50 which we will hold open until 31 January 2017. So please, over the coming few weeks, make sure you are thinking about who to invite and then in the new year begin to form your town/city delegation and get them booked in.
Finally please pray that Christ will be present and exalted as we gather from cities and towns from all over the nations. Movement Day UK is not a talking shop but a meeting place both with each other and most with with Christ, the Lord of every place in our land.
Thank you so much for your support in helping get the room ready, creating a wonderful context for a very important conversation.
